Report a route rejection

The FastestKnownTime.com platform publishes no record of what it turns down, so the only account of the refusals is the one held by the people who received them, scattered across inboxes and forum threads and mostly never compared. A refusal that reads as arbitrary to one athlete looks like nothing at all until it sits next to many others. This page is where they sit together.

What I am asking for

The route and roughly where it was, the dates you submitted and heard back, and the reason you were given, sorted into one of seven categories. If you are willing to paste the actual message you received, that is the most useful part of the whole form, because a paraphrase of a refusal can always be argued with and a quotation cannot. Take out anything you would rather not share before you paste it.

I also want to hear from you if you decided against submitting a route because you expected it would be turned down. Those cases never appear anywhere, and they are the clearest sign that a rule is being learned by anticipation rather than read.

What happens to it

Every report is reviewed by me before anything appears, and no individual report is ever published in full. Editors are never named. That holds whether or not you name one, because the argument is about a process and not about a volunteer who applied it. Your own name and email are optional, they are never published under any circumstances, and I ask for them only so I can come back with a question. Nothing you write is quoted anywhere unless you tick the box that says I may.

Report a rejected route submission

If a route you submitted was turned down, this is where to record it. Reports are reviewed before anything appears on the site, individual reports are never published in full, and the figures below are aggregate only.

About you

Optional, and never published. This is only so we can come back to you with a question if the report is unclear.

If you leave this unticked, the wording is still counted in the totals but is never reproduced anywhere.
